The top social networking site has made several changes over the years. Some of us hate it, others love it but all of us learn to live with it.

So we’re probably going to learn living with Timeline too, Facebook’s latest development designed to make the user experience much more…interesting.

Timeline is actually pretty common in some mobile phone models today. Basically, the feature introduces a chronological order of development so that people can see exactly what they did on a specific date. In mobile phones, Timeline is usually limited to camera images, grouping photos according to the date they were taken.

In Facebook, it’s a bit more complicated than that. The feature still shows all the updates a person made during their time spend in the social networking site. This involves the people they added, the images they uploaded, wall posts made and even maps to show where people traveled for the past year and every day since. To sum it up, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg says that the new Timeline features are “a way to tell all the important stories from your life on a single page.”

Considering privacy issues, the Timeline feature also took into consideration that some people might not want their private photos displayed. This is why upon activating this latest development, users have the chance to evaluate their uploaded files over the years and tick on the items that may or may not be displayed in public. For those who have already saved huge amounts of images on the site, this might be a small problem.

Visually, Timeline shows the top or most prominent image on the user’s wall. A sidebar will be available showing specific years since the user started on the social site. From there, individuals can choose specific dates and see exactly what they have done during that time.

Since I haven’t seen it yet, the jury is still out on this one. However, if Facebook’s Timeline delivers what it promises, this new feature will definitely chance the way people connect and provide information online.
