Who’s Who in Yahoo! PH

Shamcey Supsup takes the top of the list of Yahoo! Philippines’ Top Searches in 2011 when she represented the country in the Miss Universe tilt in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Yahoo! Philippines has been the go-to place for everything and anything anyone wants to know about.

It is also one of the first places people go to online for information about celebrities and personalities.  In as far as who’s who in the Philippines is concerned, Yahoo! PH’s list of Top Searches in 2011 yielded a slate predominantly consisting of women in show business.  Here are some of the Filipino personalities who landed in the local Yahoo! network’s Top 10 list:

1.       Shamcey Supsup – Filipinos all over the world searched for articles and images of this Binibining Pilipinas-Universe titlist when she represented the country in the Miss Universe pageant held in Sao Paolo, Brazil in September.  Her answer to the pageant’s Question and Answer round during which American actress and pageant judge Vivica A. Fox asked her about her views about changing her religious views for the man she loves elicited a mix of reactions from Filipino netizens online.  The Architecture board exam topper and magna cum laude graduate said:  “If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God, who created me.  I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am.  And if that person loves me, he should love my God too.”  Supsup’s boyfriend Lloyd Lee also enjoyed his share of Yahoo! searches especially when it was revealed that Supsup’s father did not know about their relationship yet. 

2.       Sam Pinto – Who would not want to search for this sexy model-actress?  From the time she entered the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2009, she has since been noticed for her whistle-bait figure that she does not fail to flaunt in her print and television ads.  She moved on from modeling to hosting a noontime program and starring in a primetime show with a major local network.  She was also awarded with Yahoo! OMG! Awards’ Clear Woman title and was declared as the FHM’s Sexiest Woman of the World in 2011.

3.       Shalani Soledad – Unassuming and shy, this Valenzuela councilor caught the spotlight during the months leading to the campaign for the presidential elections in 2010 when she was in a relationship with then candidate President Benigno Aquino III.  Their breakup soon after their relationship was made public and her surprise decision to co-host a primetime game show with controversial TV host Willie Revillame, and then her engagement to another local government official coming from a prominent clan were more than enough to keep her interesting to the public.
