After the trending and controversial win against Argentina's boxing superstar Lazarte, Team Casimero had made a wish not to fight in the country again that made them feel to be unwelcome.

What a win from a young Filipino boxer Johnriel Casimero to knock out Argentine boxing superstar Luis Lazarte at the 10th round of the fight for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Junior Flyweight Championship which results to violent reaction from the opponents supporters. It was recalled that the incident happened just after knock down punch of the Filipino fighter.

A riot started then, flying chairs, flying bottled waters and physical harms that shocked Casimero’s team. It was said that all the members felt the anger of the Argentine for defeating their boxer. Even the Pinoy fighter did not avoided the riot attack and had been bit by Lazarte that urge to Team Casimero co- promoter to file formal complaint to IBF about the said incident. Sammy Gello- ani, Casimero’s promoter, also stated that he got four swells in head and bruises in his body. After what happened, Casimero and his team said that if possible they don’t want to fight in the Argentina again for causing them trauma.

Perhaps only fights here in Philippines or in America they could only accept for their safety and to avoid the riot to happen again. Still, ‘sports’ must not be misspelled. It is not an idea of competition or rivalry that may or eventually cause harmful acts and for two even more bodies to hurt each other. A sport is a game that should be fair to play, build friendship not to destruct and to lift up one’s esteem. Perhaps in a game like boxing pains cannot be avoided for it is considered to be someone’s life and dreams. And life without pain will never make you stronger and a dream without striving hard to reach will just stay as daydream, an illusion far from reality. Lastly, Filipinos were open- minded enough to see and appreciate something sweet from a bitter scenario.
