Tim Tebow to Set Up Charity in PH
Athlete superstar Tim Tebow helps with the development of hospitals in PH; appeals to others to help
Ever heard of Tebowing?
Tebowing is an act where one person getting down on one knee and praying, even if everyone else surrounding them is minding their own business. It’s actually a very new word, coined after football player Tim Tebow who usually did this action during one of his games.
However, “tebowing” is not the main reason why this NFL top athlete has garnered both fame and fortune. It just so happens that Tim Tebow has proven himself to be one of the best players in today’s season.
Aside from his prowess in the field however, few people know that the world-famous NFL star was actually born in the Philippines. According to reports, the Tebow CURE Hospital would be set up within the city of Davao and Tebow will be one of the top contributors to this project. The facility will accommodate 30 beds and will be worth around $3 million. Scheduled for completion during the mid 2013, Tim Tebow reveals how exited he felt about the project.
"I've always had a special place in my heart for the country in which I was born and I'm very excited about this project," he said in a video message posted at the CURE official website. The athlete also appealed to the public, asking them to chip in and make the dream a reality.
Philippines is actually one of the stops of the Tim Tebow foundation as it aims to create playrooms for children in the hospital. The project is especially for the younger ones who have undergone surgery. At the same time, the CURE foundation will help with children problems and specialize with the treatment of bone diseases.
“This hospital will change the lives of thousands of children in the Philippines,” added Tebow.
Tebow’s missionary parents were residing in Manila during 1987, the year he was born.
