PDEA NABS SENIOR CITIZEN FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION

A sexagenarian was nabbed by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for selling one brick of marijuana to a poseur buyer two days ago in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

A sexagenarian was nabbed by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for selling one brick of marijuana to a poseur buyer two days ago in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The arrested suspect was identified as Oscar Addun, 61, married, and a resident of Guyabano Street, Barangay Pengue Ruyu, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Addun faces charges for violation of Section 6 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Elements of PDEA Regional Office II, under Director Juvenal Azurin, scheduled a transaction with Addun and conducted an operation to entrap the suspect. Recovered from Addun was one brick of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops wrapped in a magazine leaf. Upon the pre-arranged signal, PDEA agents arrested the suspect and is now temporarily under the custody of PDEA RO-II.

Confiscated evidence was submitted for quantitative and qualitative laboratory examination.
