How to Kick the Habit
It's time to kick our bad habits away and start living an active and a healthier lifestyle.
Chris Sports held a bloggers night last Thursday, February 16, 2012 at their SM Megamall branch. Chris Sports Marketing Manager Arlene Lindo and actor/host Alvin Anson gamely explained to the guest, media people and bloggers about ‘Kick The Habit’ ‘Kick The Habit: A Run and Love Healthy Lifestyle’ is a health and anti-smoking campaign which aims to raise awareness to people on the physical risk of smoking.
The campaign also aims to motivate people to start a clean and healthier lifestyle through running. The fun run, which started last November 14, 2010, aims to gather 2,000 to 5,000 participants (mostly students who are next in line to carry the campaign) who shall continually embrace “the Healthy and Active Lifestyle.” The event was graced by some of its non-smoking advocates, among them were basketball legend Billy Ray Bates, Songwriter Jojo Toledo, Social Enterprenuer Jayjay Lizarondo, multiple car race winner Alvin Ng, actress/endorser Roxanne Barcelo, dancer/singer Young JV who shared their personal thoughts about the campaign’s advocacy.
The fun run will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 5am, at the Philippine Sports Arena (ULTRA) in Pasig City. The said run will have different race categories such as 3K, 5K and 10K. Registration fees are as follows: PhP150 for students, PhP500 (without running clinics) and PhP 1,000 (with running clinics and health seminars). The race is open to smokers and non-smokers alike, and to those who wants to start a cleaner and fitter lifestyle this 2012. The Kick the Habit fun run is made possible through the efforts of Chris Sports, Healthway Medical, GWorld Inc., in cooperation with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Philippine Sports Commission and the City of Mandaluyong and Pasig City.
The proceeds of the fun run will go to the Helping Overcome Poverty Thru Education (HOP-E Foundation). Other activities the Kick the Habot team has lined up are concerts, health seminars, running clinics and various events in Visayas, Mindanao and overseas.
