Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford Apart for 4 Months

Nikki claims she has trust in Billy but not those surrounding him

The couple of four years will be away from each other for four months

As Billy Crawford returns to France to renew his singing career, his girlfriend Nikki Gil said that their four-month absence from each other would test their relationship of four years.  

 “I trust him—but not everyone around him,” Nikki told a national broadsheet. “What’s important is that I have faith in him. We wouldn’t have lasted last this long if I didn’t.”

Billy will perform in Paris and Reunion Island for the next four months.

“I’m sad and happy at the same time,” Nikki said. “I will miss him but I know something good will come out of it. Thankfully, I have this.” The singer-actress was referring to her new soap opera under ABS-CBN entitled “Mundo man ay Magunaw,” a television remake of a movie in the 1990s which top-billed Romnick Sarmenta and Sheryl Cruz.

“I’m hoping it will take my mind off Billy’s absence,” Nikki continued. “Fortunately, we can communicate via Skype and our cell phones.”

Billy became known in Europe for his songs such as “Trackin’,” “When You Think about Me,” “Never My Love,” and “Bright Lights.”

The soap opera which will star Nikki will also feature Eula Valdez and Empress Schuck. Nikki plays the villain Jennifer while Empress plays Sheryl. Both play the role of estranged sisters who do not know what happened to their mother, Olivia, after she was imprisoned for 20 years and lost custody of her children.

“I’ve never done a contravida role before,” Nikki claims. “It’s new to me. Even in real life, my friends said they’ve never seen me in any fight. This is just what I’ve been waiting for, this rather offbeat role. I couldn’t turn my back on it, needless to say.”

It was Billy who encouraged Nikki to take the project.

“He was the only person who said this was perfect for me,” she said. “I guess he was reminded of the times we had arguments and saw that I had potential to be a contravida.”
